Originally commissioned by the Merlin Theatre, Frome, with book by Colin Wakefield, music and lyrics by Kate Edgar, The Snow Queen is a large-cast show following Gerda’s advantures as she attempts to rescue Kay from the evil clutches of the Snow Queen in the frozen north. Along her journey Gerda encounters many exotic characters, a snowflake ballet and even a chorus of tap dancing penguins!

Also available: A smaller-cast version featuring seven principals (3M 4F) and a flexible chorus. The thirteen songs are scored for two keyboards, so this version can be performed as a more conventional musical.
