Rosen aus Florida (1929) was completed after Leo Fall’s death in 1925 by Erich Korngold. Fall’s widow asked Korngold to complete the work using sketches left in his estate. While most of Act 1 existed in short score, nothing had been composed for Act 2. Korngold created the entire second act using some material from the first, but also composed some original music – such as Irina’s Lied. At the premiere, guests in the audience included Richard Strauss and Emmerich Kalman.
